Vorab Gletscherrestaurant sits high on the slopes of Laax, offering more than just a convenient bite during a day on the mountain. This Swiss restaurant appeals especially to skiers and hikers who are keen for a solid meal without long waits, as the kitchen clearly prioritizes quick service alongside generous portions. The setting is spacious with plenty of seating, which helps keep the lunchtime rush feeling manageable even on busy days.

The menu echoes familiar alpine favorites, with hearty options like Kalbsbratwurst with fries and onion gravy, pulled beef with fries, and ravioli with spinach, alongside some sweeter notes like cheesecake and a rich brownie. These dishes deliver on satisfying comfort food, reflecting local flavors without straying into anything too fancy or overly refined.

Practicality is a key part of the experience here. The staff work steadily to maintain a tidy dining area amidst the steady flow of visitors, and multiple payment options, including app ordering, make settling the bill straightforward—something appreciated at that altitude where time is often tight and people are keen to get back on the slopes or trails quickly.

The atmosphere is functional and friendly rather than cozy or intimate. It’s the kind of spot where groups of friends gather to refuel, enjoying the panoramic mountain views just outside but staying inside to escape sharper winds or colder weather. For locals or visitors making the most of peak ski days, Vorab Gletscherrestaurant feels like a reliable middle ground between hearty mountain fare and efficient service.

Best times to visit are during the midday peak when the busy slopes translate into a bustling restaurant scene. Arrive early or just before the typical lunch rush to avoid the busiest periods, especially if you’re looking for a bit more quiet or a relaxed pace. Anyone looking for a quick, familiar, and filling meal at altitude will find this place fits the bill nicely.

It has lots of seating and staff constantly tried to keep things tidy. The food menu was similar to other places on the resort but the portion was bigger and tasted better. The food arrived really fast too.

Paying for convenience—but hey, at least the card machine works! It’s awesome that all your friends can reach this place, almost at the very top of the resort. Ordering via the app is blazing fast, and there are multiple payment options. Take note, Austria, with your broken card machines and weird obsession with old-school cash! Fries with bratwurst and onion gravy were genuinely satisfying. Pulled beef was a bit boring, and the Alpen pasta could feed a family of four. Nothing mind-blowing, but it gets the job done. As always, everyone gets five stars.

Tasty, the choices are pretty much the same as in other restaurants on these slopes.
